My garden is full!
Okay, so maybe it looks like a patch of dirt, buuuut…
- I’ve planted okra, pepper, eggplant, zucchini, cucumber and tomato plants.
- I’ve planted corn, beet, bean, collard green and turnip seeds.
A lot for a small garden? Yes, but it’s my first year, so this is mostly experimentation to see what will grow/do well. I don’t have high hopes for the root crops, as the soil around here is something like a clay brick (time to start composting!), but I should get lots of greens, if nothing else.
I still can’t believe I own a house…with a yard…that now has a garden.

Look at that! How stinking cool – I’m insanely jealous
How awesome!! I can’t wait to see when everything starts growing!
Looking good!!!!!
That’s awesome! I hope your dirt patch yields lots of goodies! I just planted some bell peppers and jalapeno peppers a week or two ago. Fingers crossed!
Oh I hope you have sucess with your little garden. Most of my plants are working out, some have already been eaten up by varmits. This is only my second garden so anything that grows I’ll be happy with.
That is awesome! Let me know how it goes growing corn. It’s something I’ve wanted to try but haven’t experimented yet.
How cool Ali!! now to watch it bloom and grow
yay! that’s awesome
So excited for you, Allie! Your garden will be green before you know it!
Can’t wait to see the garden in full bloom!
You are so cool! I’m so jealous! I hope I can plant outside soon!
That’s so cool! If it’s any help, myfriend planted a garden like that but smaller a couple of years ago with about that many different vegetables. Another friend and I were really laughing, especially as it was in the shade and right by the house, saying nothing would grow – and I’ve never been proved so wrong in my life! You should have seen the crops she got out of it
weeee – so excited for you – I love watching things that I PLANTED grow!
So awesome!!
When we get back, I’m going to experiment with some tomatoes and basil on the balcony. We don’t have much an area for the real deal. I’ll have to live vicariously through yours!
OOOH…so exciting. Can’t wait to see how the garden grows. Hope all is well and that your week is going well.
You have a garden! This is real life and so exciting
That’s so exciting!!! You’re now a home owner AND a garden owner
Oh this is so exciting! I can’t wait to see photos of the progress
I would love to have a vegetable garden but I’ll settle for a herb box next year!
I thought I commented on this. I think maybe I had wanted to, but I couldn’t on my phone. It would only let me like it. Anyway, super jealous. I’m dying for collard greens. And I love okra fresh from the garden SO SO MUCH. Yeah, jealous is the only word.
