You know what is a fabulous invention? Spray paint.
It turns boring $7 crates into bright side tables/bookshelves.
It turns trashy $5 thrift store lamps into classy lighting pieces.
And it turns a somewhat empty guestroom into a room that is starting to come together (as soon as I repaint those awful sage walls, that is).

I’m loving that color pink. So much, in fact, that I just painted my nails that color! I’m trying to have nicer nails, so I’ve been buying polish that makes me actually want to take the time to paint them.
I clearly love it too–the sheets on the bed are the same color as the pillows/bookshelves, it’s all pretty fabulous.
You’ve got such a fun eye for DIY design, Allie! I’m totally jealous. And, if that comforter goes missing…its probably at my house. Just sayin’.
Thanks Faith! And I guess I better start locking that room ;D
Ahh I love your style so much, that pink is killer!! I love transforming old furniture into something stylish and new, it’s always so fun
Thank you thank you! And it really is a blast–and has the added benefit of being much cheaper, too!
I love watching your new house come together. I am also realizing we have very similar decorating styles – fun colors for the win!!
I love everything bright! So I’m trying to use those colors without making it too much, haha. It’s a fine line!
I’m pretty sure you’ve cornered the market on hot pink spray paint! It looks great!
Thanks! And I completely wiped Michael’s out of their stock of raspberry-pink spray paint…luckily it was the exact amount I needed…
Cute upgrades!
Thanks!
The room looks so cute, Allie! I love the bright pink, very cheery! I love spray paint too!
Thanks Fran! I definitely love warm colors and rooms–windows were essential, as are all the bright accents I can cram in without making things too overwhelmingly tacky
Yay for house updates! I love seeing the transformation your home is going through
I think it’s fantastic that you are able to make such lovely changes to furniture to make pieces look infinitely better than before. Love how your guest room is looking!
Thanks! I love having a reason to post these pictures, it helps me see that things really are coming together, it feels so slow and gradual from this end!
I love your guest room!
Thanks Jane!
Green in your kitchen and pink in your guestroom….you are AWESOME…and that is all
!
And I had such good intentions to do my house in only neutral colors
You’re really good with spray paint.. And decorating in general !
Thanks Allie!
I love that colour! It is so me
Isn’t it fabulous? I really wanted to go crazy and just spraypaint everything that color
Spray paint is every college kids dream – takes cheap stuff and makes it look like quality good stuff
Any time I can get classy for cheap, I’m all for it
It may be simple to do that – but so creative! I love those bookshelves and the lamp looks so classy! Love the way it’s coming together
Thanks! And ohh, all I need is a coat of paint, a comfy chair and a few pieces of wall art and I’ll have a finished room! I love that this house is starting to feel like MY home, as cheesy as that is.
You are one creative woman! The pink book shelf looks so pretty & that lamp too!
Thanks Sophie! I’m so happy with how everything turned out–you never know how creative projects are going to end, and I definitely have as many flops as successes, haha.
Lovely! You’re so creative! I need more of this quality haha
I find it’s an easy quality to have…bright spray paint + random cheap objects = magic!
