I had an unforgettable weekend Atlanta. One of those amazing trips where you wonder, “Did my life just peak? Can it ever be that awesome again?” One of those trips that deserves a great retelling…until you realize, this is the public Internet.
So instead, I give you granola. Healthy, wholesome, average-life-living, good-for-you, reasonable-choice-making granola.
Easy Protein Granola
- 1.5 cups oats
- 2 heaping T protein powder
- 1t baking powder
- 1t cinnamon (or lots more, if you’re me)
- 3T applesauce/other fruit puree
- 1T liquid sweetener like agave
Stir it all together, then sprinkle it around a pan lined with parchment paper. Press it down/together a little if you like chunkier granola. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
And of course you can spice it up with some dried fruit, other spices, nuts or coconut. But if your life has had just the right amount of spice as of late…Snacking on a giant bowl of the basic version hits the spot.

As responsible as granola is, it’s good to hear you had a very non-Granola vacation
we all need those from time to time…especially when we are young!
Looks great!
I’m glad you had a good trip. A censor worthy trip is even better.
I do limit how much I share on the interwebs.
O.k., so interesting that you use baking powder in granola, I’ve never seen a recipe that called for it, what is the purpose do you know?
Glad you had so much fun you can’t even share it.
I added it because I like the flavor and in an oil-less, vegan recipe, it helps to hold things together a little (and I like having some good crunchy chunks of granola in the mix).
SO glad to hear you had a rockin trip!! This granola sounds mighty tasty too!
Why is granola SO EXPENSIVE when it’s so easy??
I think you should tell all your Hotlanta secrets anyway
I have no idea! This recipe, which would theoretically be about 3 servings if I weren’t me and didn’t sit and eat the whole batch at once, cost MAYBE $1 to make.
And oh, you have no idea how much I want to share, haha. But I’ve used up my lapses in judgment for at least a week ;D
Hmmm….lol
Ummm… I want the juicy details.
There was SO much going on in ATL this weekend.
Great granola idea! I’m forever in search of protein.
It was a last minute decision to throw in the powder, but it ended up working GREAT, tasted delicious, and gave the oats a little extra nutritional oomph.
And I’m definitely going to have to make it back to ATL again soon, way too much to see and do in just one weekend…
Let me know when you do!!!
This sounds really good and easy, Allie. Come on now…you can give us a Few details about Hotlanta…can’t you?!
yummy! thanks for the recipe!
and omg DETAILS WOMAN!
hahahaha the suspense! lol
Lol now you have us all wondering about Hotlanta!!
Ohh can’t wait to here about your trip to ATL – I have a feeling it’s going to be good
! Love that you added protein powder to the mix! The combo of vanilla protein powder & oats always reminds me of cookie dough…even more so when peanut butter is thrown into the mix!
Ohh, it was slightly cookie-like, and I didn’t even stop to notice that. Now I KNOW I’m going to be living off this stuff for the next month
I don’t dare try it with PB, I’d be even more hooked…
Haha this suspense is killing me and everyone else it seems!
Love that name…”Hotlanta”.
I want to hear about this trip! Yum to that granola too
A lovely granola recipe! i love that you added protein powder.! Yum!
