Kat was awesome enough to nominate me for the Sunshine Award! And who doesn’t need a little extra sunshine this time of year? Especially when I had to hustle to the gym in the dark. In booty shorts and 40 degree weather. Okay, I could have worn pants. But that’s not going to happen any time soon.
Rules:
~If you are nominated you must include the link in a blog, linking to the person/blog that nominated you~
~You must answer some questions. and nominate 7 fellow bloggers and link their blogs in your post~
1. Who is your favorite philosopher? Is it sad that I was a philosophy major (…for one semester…) and I still can’t answer this question? I do remember rockin’ out with Derrida and some deconstruction. Have I lost you yet? No? Onwards, then…
2. What is your favorite number? I don’t have one. I do have a favorite specific time (5:55), but I don’t care one way or the other about the number 5 outside of that.
3. What is your favorite animal? Chickens! Because they are dumb and adorable and ownership requires minimal involvement.
Aww, my girls were so cute when they were babies.
4. What are your Facebook and Twitter? Twitter@alliebeast (And even though it’s not on the list, you better follow me on Instagram@forgottenbeast too)
5. What is your favorite time of day? Well I sort of answered this already, didn’t I? But less specifically, mornings. I love ‘em. Even if I have a bad habit of walking into doorframes/tables/countertops before I’m fully awake. Coffee and chocolate helps remedy that problem.
I recognize this isn’t theĀ bestĀ of breakfasts (I did have a piece of toast a little later), but nutritional changes have left me so full that I couldn’t contemplate the idea of solid food first thing today. Stomach, please hurry up and adjust.
6. What was your favorite vacation? Italy. Specifically, my trip to Rapallo and Florence. One seaside country town, one huge city. And I would happily move to either. (Last winter’s trip to Costa Rica was pretty fabulous, too.)
7. What is your favorite physical activity? Weightlifting! I hope this one was obvious ;D
8. What is your favorite non-alcoholic drink? Seltzer water. Any time, place, flavor, sort, you name it.
9. What is your favorite flower? Daffodils! Winter bums me out. And daffodils? They are always the official sign that it’s just about over. Bright yellow signs of spring. How can you look at a daffodil and not feel happy?
Spring is so far away right now…
10. What is your passion? Can I just write, “see #7?” Weightlifting is my life right now–and that makes me oh-so-happy.
How would you answer one or two of these questions?

That chicken photo totally made my day. Animals are the best.
Yay for weight lifting! I’m so glad to hear that you’re loving it
You know i’m right there with you on the weight lifting! My favorite vacation was also Italy. We did a bunch of small towns and I did NOT want to come home.
Why 5:55?
Picked it when I was a kid, and decided that if I looked at the clock when it was 5:55 (am) I’d have a good day no matter what. Or, if it was 5:55 pm, the next day would be good. Still kinda superstitious about my own made up superstition, too
I feel you. My blog posts are time to go up on a prime number.
Love these sort of nominations. It’s so wonderful getting to know others better! I think it’s too funny that you love chickens. I’ve never heard of chickens being anyone elses favorite animal haha!
That’s because too few people own ‘em! If you own one of these ridiculous balls of feathers, you’ll realize they are pretty much the most awesomely goofy animal ever ;D
I was thinking of taking my mom to Florence in the spring. So you recommend it? We went to Venice and Rome and loved both, so we were looking for another good Italian place to chill out, eat good food, and take lots of pictures!
I’ve done Rome and Venice as well, and Florence was BY FAR my favorite! Yes, I would definitely recommend it–beautiful architecture, delicious food, amazing “Italian” feel.
Cool! I think I’ll book that then! I’ll have to e-mail you closer to the time for recommendations
I want to go to Italy next… Jason lived there for a while after college, and I love to hear about it.
my favorite physical activity? honestly, the first thing that came into my head was ROLLERSKATING!
You would love it! The food, the desserts, the wine, the food…Oh yeah, some cool history and architecture too
Hahahaha I’m dying laughing that you love chickens because they’re “dumb and adorable.” Have to admit, that is a very cute picture. I too walk into stationary objects when weary… and then later wonder where that bruise came from! Hope you have a fantastic Tuesday!! PS TEAM FLORENCE! I lived there for a year and love that place dearly.
They’re the bimbos of the animal world, you just can’t hate them
And I love random bruise collections–AND THAT YOU LIVED IN FLORENCE. Can I be really really jealous?
chickens? really? I love that! do you eat chicken… I mean that is the bigger question.
Haha, nope, been veggie for 9+ years now, so no chicken on the table…just in my backyard
I still find it so cool that you have chickens as pets! My friend had quails for sometime and she offered to bring me some eggs a few times
I just love boasting about how I ate 10 eggs as a snack! Florence is lovely I totally agree with you on that one, not mention all the leather goodies ^^ Woaa, how many hours a day do you weightlift?
Okay, now I want to add quail to my flock
Think they’d get along with chickens? And pretty much just one hour a day, sometimes runs a little longer, but never more than 1.5.
Love these questions! I’m not sure of my favorite vacation, but either Paris or Italy – both amazing places where we had amazing times.
I definitely want to visit Paris someday! Except I want to go back to Italy first. There are just too many places to visit!
Love when people have to answer random questions about themselves!! And I LOVE how you just crossed out the part of nominating 7 other people…that’s why i never post these! I don’t have that much time! haha!
I always feel bad tagging people, or half of them have been tagged anyway, or I just don’t want to, haha. But I love answering the questions/being tagged myself, so I might need to rethink that one of these days…
Daffodils are the perfect sign spring is just around the corner. I love them and I love you own chickens. I’m fascinated by this and want to hear more.
No worries, my chickens pop up in the blog all the time
I’m only now catching up on blog posts today! I think you absolutely should invest in one of those soda water machines. I love mine! Fuel the addiction (or go back to Italy where you can drink it 24/7!)!
I know, I’d really save some money. If I got the seltzer machine, not if I went back to Italy. I was eying them at Costco the other day, but the store was closing in ten minutes, and I really need a good thirty to waffle back and forth about buying anything that costs more than $10.
I am notorious for grabbing something, carrying it with me throughout the store, get almost to the checkout line, then go put it back and not buy it all. We’re awesome.
Seltzer with lime…that’s all I have to say!!
Seltzer with lime…with a meal covered in Fiesta Lime Mrs. Dash?
So if your chickens were cute when they were young, what are they now? haha
Winter bums me out too!
They’re still adorable! But it’s like puppies vs. adult dog, still cute, but you can help but look at pics of them when they were young and go “awwww.”
i spy chocolate and coffee for the win! did you like it? I am a morning person too. Maybe because there is coffee involved? hehe
Haha, coffee makes every morning more appealing
And I sent you an e-mail because YES. I did like it.
Omg, that pic of the chickens is the CUTEST! Makes me want one! Ohhh, to have fresh eggs on hand all day every day…that would be my version of Heaven (one of many that is!)
Favorite number: 7…also the day I was born…I’m convinced it’s good luck even though I really have no physical proof!
Favorite vacation: St. Augustine, FL two summers ago. My first REAL vacation on my own…I learned a lot about myself on that trip…and the setting was GORGEOUS!
