I mentioned on Wednesday that my bowl full of tofu dilly dip turned heads at the office–Guess that means it’s a candidate for Laura’s Strange but Good link-up, huh? Not sure why though: Tangy, spicy, dilly–delicious!
Tofu Dilly Dip
Makes one large serving.
- 6oz firm silken tofu (half a box)
- 1/2t dried dill
- 1/4t cayenne pepper
- Juice from 1/2 a lemon
Put in a blender. Blend. When I dip, you dip, we dip.
Best served with a warm flatbread (I’ve been loving hemp protein flatbreads as of late.). This also makes a fantastic high-protein creamy salad dressing. Just sayin’.
(Laura, your logo matches my placemats. This makes me happy.)
Eat anything strange this week?

Doesn’t look strange to me- just plain delicious
! I’ve been eating so much of applesauce with soy milk over this past week…might be a weird combo but it sure tastes fantastic!
Hmm, applesauce and soymilk? I’ll have to give that one a try!
I like that you put it in a mug. I’m sure it would be good over a salad. Hm my “2 ingredient” pancakes are probably the weirdest thing thus far. Woot! Enjoy your weekend!
Haha, I almost included a line about “strange but good” containers. It was either this or a reused plastic container–thought this was slightly classier
mmm this looks yummy! i love how you can use tofu in so many different things!
im alwaysss eating strange things haha!! my cauliflower peanut pudding that ive linked up today is definitely strange but mmm is it good!
Tofu’s kinda like cauliflower
What CAN’T you mix it with?
I thought that was a cappucino at first. I eat tofu all the time but have never done anything other than pan fry it and toss it with salads or a stir fry. I need to expand my horizons with tofu for sure.
I love the name “Dilly Dip.” Anytime I’m sad, I think I’ll say “Dilly Dip” and be happy again
Put your flatbread in that dip; when I dip, you dip, we dip!
In the summer, I like to make something similar to this, but I mash chickpeas in it and call it “tofuna salad.” I haven’t had real tuna salad in ages, but it works for me!
Exactly, how can you eat dilly dip and not be happy? It’s like bananas. Try eating a banana angrily. Impossible.
dilly dip dilly dip dilly dip dilly dip dilly dip!
Just dropping in to deliver this

why does this sound so good though????
Because it IS good! Mmm, cool refreshing dip.
I just want to dip carrots and celery in there! Looks so delicious!
Yum! That sounds delicious! Nothing weird quite yet, but there is still the weekend
Love + Shine CourtStar
LOL god I love this link up. So many weird things.
Looks tasty, would love to have it with some chips! (I know not healthy at all
)
Looks good to me! I don’t know why, but “normal” people have a hard time with the blended up tofu concept. It’s such a great cearmy dip!
ah, now I have something to do with my half boxes of silken tofu!! I always use half… and this has been on my mind since you first teased us with it…
I’m with Kristina on this, I have half boxes a lot and they end up going to waste. Love the simplicity!
This sounds so good!! I’ll have to remember this next time I get some potato chips.
I’m going to have that song stuck in my head all day now. Thanks!
Very nice, and look at you with your fancy food pictures. Busting out the fine china, I see. I’m scared of tofu, but I’m a sissy, and despite my fear I think this sounds like it would be a great combination of flavors. I’ve made a dill dip before with sour cream, fresh dill and then dunked huge chunks of rye bread in it, so this doesn’t seem that far off.
Put your hand up on my hip…when I dip, you dip, we dip.
Woaah I can just imagine a bunch of different flavoured tofu dips. Tofu is great because it absorbs all the flavours. It would probably work in a bunch of cool flavour combinations ^^
If it’s spicy, I’d probably like it!
Haha, now that song is stuck in my head! You put your hand upon my hip… Fab
I’ve never cooked or baked or made tofu but that looks tasty!
Now I’m intrigued. Must try this!
I totally thought that was some kind of cappuccino when I first saw the picture!! But, nope! You have surprised me! I actually think this looks delicious!!!
Hope you had a great weekend!
Haha, I have plastic containers, and I have things that hold hot liquid. So if I want food to look nice? I get a little creative, haha.
Hahaha at first I thought it was a drink and I was like what?? But that sounds really interesting!
That sounds so good BUT I totally would have put like 10x the amount of dill. I love it sooooo much!
So smart to use silken tofu and create a dip!! Great recipe!!
This sounds great, Allie and easy which is my kind of recipe. Thanks for sharing it, my dear!
Many things to love about this:
1.) I have an open package of tofu in my fridge as we speak.
2.) I love dill.
3.) I love my food processor and any opportunity to use it.
4.) References to Jock Jams songs from the 90s always make things better.
