The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje

A bit of a slog to get through (but that’s just me), but beautifully written. Descriptions of place and the psychological effects of war and trauma made you feel the loneliness of war and its aftermath. I’m sure there was much exploration of the human heart and mind that I missed, and I shouldn’t have been reading for plot. A book that can wrap you up in place and people that I may not have been in the right mindset while reading.
