I may have spent fifteen minutes scraping ice off of my windshield with a Panera rewards card this morning (someday I’ll invest in an ice scraper), but winter’s not all bad, right? It’s a great excuse for some stuff:
Shopping sprees.
Warm mittens, a warm headband and some warm socks. I am ready to run.
Redecorating.
My boss decided to rearrange the office, and I put in a request for a standing desk option. And guess what? My amazing boss bought one! I don’t use it all day, maybe three out of eight hours, but I can’t even begin to tell you the difference it makes in overall mood and lack of muscle stiffness.
Pancakes.
I had pancakes maybe twice all summer, and now I’ve had protein pancakes twice this week. In the words of Martha Stewart, it’s a good thing.
Peanut butter.
Okay, there’s no wrong season for peanut butter, but Michelle sent me a wonderful package full of my favorite Trader Joe’s stuff! How amazing is she??!
Excitement.
For the holidays! In less than a week I get to take few days off from work (can’t remember when I last did that) and spend some quality time relaxing with the family. And eating stuffing.
Slow cooking.
Monday is slow cook link up time with me and the fabulous JamieAnne, so get your past and present slow cook/crock pot posts ready and join the fun!
What are your favorites parts of winter/cold weather?
Heck yea to peanut butter and shopping, you know how to make me swoon haha
My favorite things about cold weather– fun hats, hot chocolate, and comfy blankets 🙂
Happy Friday!!
Ooo, how could I forget about fun hats? I love winter hats. And scarves! Worn while shopping AND eating peanut butter? Recipe for the best day ever…
I’m so glad the mysterious peanut butter showed up finally! Didn’t your neighbors see that it had your address on it?! It boggles my mind!
I still think you’re a total bad ass for running in the cold. I’m such a wuss. It’s cold. It’s dark. It’s (usually) rainy. It’s just no fun at all.
Whoooo knows. The next door ones usually bring our stuff over, I don’t know why across the street didn’t do the same. And I will totally wuss out of in the rain running too, but am going to make myself stick with the cold.
How do you run in cold weather? My chest and lungs always feel like they have knives in them, and I’m part freezing yet part boiling as well. I hate everything about cold weather running!
Painfully. I run very painfully. And with many layers of underarmour and cold-gear. I hate it too, hence the reason it’s a major goal of mine to stick with it.
Glad to know it’s not just me then!! Not glad for your pain, but ya know what I mean 🙂
I am laughing at you using your Panera card to scrape the snow. It’s funny how we put off buying totally necessary items and then when we finally do get them we’re so overjoyed when all we had to do was pony up $5 in the first place. I speak from experience(s).
I agree with Marie, completely- my mum gets me an ice scraper every Christmas and for a few weeks I’m all “check me out with the proper equipment” then I’ve always lost it by the next winter and end up using a CD case 🙂
And this is probably a stupid question but does that mean you can adjust the height of your desk?
Soup…flat out the best part of Winter. Need to make some this weekend. Hang in there, Cutie, you can do this NaNo thing!
I’ve been shopping a lot lately, just bought myself two cardigans today! I agree pancakes are a good thing 🙂
I love everything about cold weather – cable knit sweaters, riding boots, hot mugs of coffee, curling up on my balcony with a blanket…but sadly Florida is totally anti-cold. Boo 😦
I have a standing desk and I LOVE it so much!
Im SO excited for the holidays too!! ❤
Have a great weekend. 🙂
I love getting packages of goodies! How sweet!
I like winter, such that it is in north central Texas. Fires, long sleeved shirts, hot chocolate.
Oatmeal in the cold weather makes me verrry happy- it warms me up and my insides thank me 🙂
I’d love to have a standing desk here at home! When I taught first grade, I put a high table in the room and let kids work there if they preferred to work standing. Several kids – mostly little boys – chose that option every day. So would I if I could!
Mmm that PB is so so good! I am running out as a matter of fact, I guess that means a Trader Joe’s run for me 🙂 Changing into comfy clothes, baking, and just relaxing in warmth is my favorite in cold weather
Heck yes for TJ’s peanut butter. That stuff is straight up CRACK.
Winter/cold things = hats, skiing, snow, peppermint hot chocolate, throwing snowballs at my dog and baking! Oh! and using the crockpot!
Yay for shopping and a new desk! It’s the little things!
I really don’t have many parts of winter that I love. I know, scrooge! But I do love when it is snowing outside and I don’t have anywhere to be!
brrr….looks like an ice scraper could be pretty helpful! 🙂
