I saved $60 by avoiding the salon and having my friend dye my hair last night (and it turned out great!), I had another great run this morning (Do I actually not hate running in chilly weather? Woah.) and I have new books (and they were free!). So as if things weren’t going great already, I get to eat and make it even better…
Breakfast
Protein pancake (yes, they were my dinner last WIAW) and homemade applesauce. And look how well my camera knows me, auto-focusing on the peanut butter and all. We all know who the star of this breakfast was…
Lunch
Another leaning tower of lunch! Lettuce, Disappointment Soup and fennel and citrus salad (so good!).
Snackage
Protein bake-bars! I promised a recipe yesterday, so check back tomorrow.
Dinner
Random finds from the freezer/fridge, in a bowl.
Dessert
Y’all know what time it is??
Ohhhhh yeahhhhh.
What’s your favorite seasonal treat?
Running is always nicer when it’s cooler outside. It feels more like fun than punishment! And I’ve been sipping on that egg nog too – SO delish, and so much yummier than the thick, snotty dairy version.
Mmm, glad someone else knows how amazingly tasty it is 🙂
Looking forward to the recipe, that bar looks tasty 🙂 And soy nog?! I had no idea they made such a thing! I hate egg nog…maybe I’d like that alternative instead!
Happy WIAW friend!
Hmm, it’s worth a try, although I loved regular nog to begin with–the soy version is much thinner, so the delicious taste is really the star.
I’m doing my best to learn to enjoy running in the cold. It’s so hard to get out there but once I’m out it’s not too bad.
Does your dinner include kimchi? It looks like one of my dinners lately! Very yummy. And hooray for soy nog 🙂
Good eye! YUP, that’s kimchi, a new-found love.
I saw some Silk Egg nog the other day… I think I may need to try it!
How did you get free books?! I am jealousssss!
I had a few dollars left on a gift card, so I suppose free for me, but not ultimately free 🙂
Sometimes leftovers in a bowl make the best meals! I just did that with quinoa, veggie chili and sweet potatoes and it was actually delicious…. although my husband thinks I’m weird 😮
Still have yet to try that soynog.
You should definitely give it a try, so tasty! And I love bowls of randomness, although yes, sometimes outsiders don’t understand 😉
The protein bars sound good…we need the recipe! 😉 I saved $26 yesterday by going getting a haircut for $8!! I was so excited…I liked it and so did Ralph! Yeah!!!
I wish I was brave enough to go get the cheap cuts! I’ve heard a few successes like yours, but I’ve seen a few disasters too, haha.
Can’t wait for that protein bake recipe! I’ve been looking for one!
I am looking forward to that recipe! That would be a great addition to my breakfast 🙂
OK, so I just have to tell you what I saw in the grocery store: egg nog flavored seltzer water, as well as candy cane. flavor. !!! (gross, right?)
Oh man, I’m addicted to seltzer, and that still sounds beyond awful. Really?? I can’t imagine anyone would buy that–at least the eggnog one. There’s already mint seltzer, and it is yuck, but I guess it’s not that far of a stretch from there to candy cane?
Disappointment Soup? Hilarious, I am using that.
Awesome that your hair turned out and you were able to save some loot. I haven’t had the best of luck with do it yourself hair so I go to the salon but only 2x a year, somethings gotta give.
New books are the best!
I was nervous about it, I’ve had bad at-home hair experiences, but this worked so well and my hair is back to its usual obnoxious orange 🙂 If only I had a friend that could cut my hair as well…
I wanna see a picture of the new hair color!!!
I had Silk nog for the first time at thanksgiving and I liked it! I’ve never actually had eggnog though, haha.
My favorite seasonal treat is anything involving peppermint…I’m obsessed!
I haven’t seen/tried that soy nog yet! I’ll have to keep my eyes open (my guess is you got it at WF?)
I always have random dinners from the fridge/freezer! Just throwing in anything I have on hand :] always tends to be tasty, especially if I had some kind of topping!
your eats look yummy!
I looove running in cool weather…getting out is difficult but once I do, the feeling is glorious! What color did you dye your hair?? My favorite seasonal treat is the peppermint hot chocolates from Starbucks…in a red cup naturally ;)!
I thought of you last week when I added peanut butter to my oats 🙂
Oh, I strongly dislike eggnog. But I like everything else that you ate, so I’ll try to pretend that I never saw that last photo! I have some apples in the fridge that are getting soft…I think I’m going to make applesauce this morning.
i love applesauce as a pancake topping! i have so much homemade frozen applesauce to hold me over for the winter 🙂
Ooh I want to see a photo of your new hair!
That protein pancake sounds lovely 🙂
And I love homemade applesauce, I can’t wait till I’m home – my mum’s is delicious!
