On the first day of Christmas there was…
One Christmas tree decorated:
Don’t judge. Or do, as long as you laugh with it, not at it.
One (or two) holiday cocktails mixed:
This is not my kitchen in the background. But a girl can dream, can’t she?
And a Cosmo with a green stir stick is a holiday cocktail, right?
One cat napping:
Don’t let innocent looks fool you, he destroyed three ornaments five minutes later.
One pot pie:
The crust left something to be desired. The filling? Warm and cozy perfection.
What’s one special thing from your first day of Christmas?
Aww I like your tree 🙂 And that pot pie looks like the perfect thing to warm a cold tummy on a wintry day!
Yay for Christmas!!!
Mmm, it was!
We bought one string of white lights, and one string of gold stars (from one world market) and put them up…in our tiny apartment that’s all we needed to feel transformed into the Christmas spirit 🙂
That sounds so cute! I wish my house was small enough to decorate, the tree is sort of the beginning and end of it.
I love your tree! And the pot pie looks so good, I’ve never tried one before! We finally have our Christmas tree up and decorated, and my Mom and I bought a new ornament, which we do every year…this year it’s a poodle to match my dog 🙂
Had to go look at it on your blog–that is pretty much the most adorable ornament ever. I love that it matches your dog, what a cute way to do ornaments!
Aw, I love all of the Christmas decorations. Shame I don’t have any this year 😦 At least I had a warm, cozy casserole on my first day of Christmas!
It’s never too late to put up a Christmassy decoration or two!
My cats have been destroying ornaments like it’s their job. This weekend, I baked one batch of Christmas cookies. They were crazy-ugly, but they were delicious!
Mmm, ugly cookies always taste the best!
A cosmo with a green stir stick is totally festive. I have no idea why you would think otherwise.
I’m a bad Christmas decorator this year. Since Andrew and I are leaving to San Diego on the 22nd, and he’s out of town most of the month, I didn’t see the point in dragging out the decorations. Slack-er. My first day of Christmas totally involved a 90 minute massage, though! I could get used to that tradition!
True, don’t know where that confusion came from–plus cranberries are totally a holiday food. Don’t blame you for not decorating, it’s a lot of work if you’re not going to be there to enjoy it. And I could go for a massage just about now, I agree that it needs to be a Christmas tradition!
That pot pie looks really yummy!
We just got around to putting up our tree too! We’re slacking a little bit.
I have to say listening to Christmas music is at the top of my list, I just love it so much. Also making Caramel Corn. Just had some right now and I need to leave the house before I eat the whole bag.
I haven’t listened to any Christmas music (outside of malls/stores) yet this year! I’m missing out! And mmm, want to mail me some caramel corn? 😀 Yum yum!
I like your tree!! And I like dreaming of beautiful kitchens too!! I was kicking off the Christmas season by decorating too, but now I wish I had that drink!!
Drinks and decorating make a great combination 😉 And someday I’ll have a gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops and well-placed cabinets…someday.
Awww fun!!! Your tree is so cute!
I had ONE christmas party. Wait no. That’s a lie I have two today 😉
Two Christmas parties?? I’m jealous.
I’m not laughing at the tree… def. with it 😉 it is adorable! It reminds me of Charlie Brown! My little sister insisted on having a Christmas tree in her bedroom and it is like 2 feet tall. Silly and cute at the same time.
What a beautiful kitchen you were in! The pot pie looks delicious 🙂
I actually tried to hang a red bulb-ornament off the very top for a good ten minutes, thinking it would give it the extra Charlie-Brown-effect 🙂 Couldn’t get it to stay, though.
Your tree is perrtttyyyy 🙂 We haven’t put ours up yet… my mom is waiting for me to get home and help her!
I like the tree. 🙂 it’s super cute!
Oh your tree is just a “full” as our tree! I happen to love it!!
I put up the Christmas tree!
Cute post! Your tree looks great! Any chance of that pot pie recipe?? All the recipes I am finding are loaded with butter…not exactly what I’m looking for an ordinary night!
I basically made this recipe: http://kblog.lunchboxbunch.com/2010/11/greenmarket-veggie-tofu-pot-pie-vegan.html I wasn’t blown away by the crust–it was a little to dense/heavy–but it would be easy to tweak it. And everything else about it is amazing. I used fresh sage and rosemary as my herbs…mmm, so warm and tasty.
Yep. I think I’d be happy with that kitchen! Mind you, I’d be more than happy with that tree too, it’s lovely – and the pot pie! It all looks great 🙂
If I had that kitchen, I think I’d be sleeping in it. I didn’t want to leave to go sit in other rooms while I was visiting, haha.
I love the tree! and the cosmo 🙂
Oh, what a lovely Christmas tree! I like your pictures, they make me feel like I am enjoying Christmas atmosphere myself, despite sitting in the college dorm with nothing Christmas-like around 🙂
You should buy a mini tree, or a few ornaments to sit around 🙂 Decorations make it feel extra-holiday-like.
I baked banana muffins yesterday. And I also sang the entire song of The Twelve Days of Christmas while walking the dog.
Both of those sound fabulous. But particularly the muffins. I could definitely go for a banana muffin right about now.
The pot pie looks tasty…do we get a recipe?!?
This one wasn’t my creation, I basically followed this recipe: http://kblog.lunchboxbunch.com/2010/11/greenmarket-veggie-tofu-pot-pie-vegan.html with a few minor tweaks. The crust certainly wasn’t as light/fluffy as I wanted it to be, but overall it was a success.
