Night Watch, by Terry Pratchett

It’s no secret that I’m not-so-secretly in love with Terry Pratchett. This book was fun, funny, whimsical and still poignant–a combination Pratchett is a master of. Night Watch did seem to rely more heavily on puns and cheesy wordplay than other books I have read by Pratchett, but I may have missed a lot of the humor related to the running/structure of police departments. While this wasn’t my favorite Pratchett book and it did take awhile to get into the story (first quarter or so of the book was a little bit of a slog), I will certainly be reading more Discworld in the future.
