As of today, I am officially unemployed.
And it feels so good.
This wasn’t what I meant when I made this month’s goal to make things fresh and new.
But I am more than okay with it.
What am I doing after this? I have no idea.
But I’ll figure it out.
There’s a job out there that matches my passions and personality.
And until I find it? I get a summer break.
Hello sun, goodbye desk-bound unhappiness.
Welcome to the world of fun-employment. π
As my principal told me when I said I was leaving, “‘ln 25 years, I’ll be retired, but you have to live with your job for a lot longer than that. Don’t wait.” [Support where I least expected it!]
I don’t know the story behind all of this, but cheers for making a change. I might have switched jobs 7 times in as many years, but I’ve just been gathering skills and interests and understanding to get myself to where I am now. [Or at least, I hope that’s what I’ve been doing.]
Also, I’ve somehow managed to always have summer vacation without any teaching classes or professional development. Bonus.
YEAH, GIRL, YEAH!!!!!!!
I know way too many people who hate something about their lives (a relationship, job, living situation, whatever), but refuse to change it or do anything other than complain.
I’m SO proud of you for realizing that life is too short to spend 50% of your waking hours at something that makes you miserable.
Yay for knitting and cooking and travelling and crafting and having more time to spend with family and friends!
FUNEMPLOYMENT FOR EVERYONE.
Live it up!!
What an exciting new chapter! I’m excited to see what the future has in store for you π
Congratulations on this exciting new development, and just in time to enjoy the best of summer too (you lucky duck).
I wish you the best with what was probably not an easy decision, and I am happy to hear that you are putting yourself and your happiness at the forefront as you take the time to explore new things π
Since you’re unemployed and all… hop on the next flight to Kuwait.. Please & thank you π
Good for you!! You’ll find something perfect! In the mean time ENJOY your summer break! I’m lamenting the fact that I don’t really get one this year (for the first time- wooo, transitioning into the working world.. .can I not grow up actually?)
Yay for a summer break!! I’m sure you will find “the” job for you! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for your future!
You’re doing this so you have more time to travel to Cleveland. Obviously. I still have your room ready. In fact, I don’t think I’ve even washed the sheets yet (oops).
I’m super proud of you. Life may be short, but it’s also realllllly long when you’re doing something you aren’t passionate about. Follow your heart, head and dreams and the rest will fall into place. I feel like I should wave some kind of magic wand after that last statement. You’re a rock star.
Enjoy some well-deserved time off!
I love your positivity…and hey, that means more time for BBQ’s!!! π
